The team at the Chamber is a pleasure to deal with, and here at ANC Group, we have worked with them for years.
Great awards ceremony and thankful to have the privilege of being on the Board of Directors for the Clemson Area Chamber.
On Weds, my husband and I came to Greenville, hoping to find a suitable place to move there. We had booked a room at the Phoenix motel, which displays itself online as having lovely rooms that are homey and newer. We were greatly disappointed, asking for another room when we viewed it, only to find a room identical in it's appearance. This hotel is misrepresented totally. The rooms are dated, with old fixtures that don't work and worn out carpet. Also, we weren't able to use our "free" breakfast because nobody informed us that serving time ended at 9:30am. The place was difficult to get to, for people who don't know their way around Greenville, so we got lost and had to get directions. We were please with Greenville as a whole, but I would tell folks to spend their money on a better place that was closer to downtown area. This place should be judged by the health dept. When you're told that renovations are coming, it's not a comfort to you now. We left early and still had to pay for the second night.
As a business owner in Vail Colorado who is very active with our chamber in the mountains we decided it would be nice to stop in for a visit to Greenville's COC as we just moved here. We were surprised at the welcome, or shall we say lack of welcome we received from the older lady at the information desk. She acted as though we crawled out from under a rock, never welcomed us to the area, never even asked anything like "...what brings you to the area" or any other conversation starter. We basically had to prod her to get a conversation going. When we asked about details of the Chamber instead of answering she directed us to the Chamber website for information. That being said after we managed to get out from under that rock and get her talking she did offer a print copy of the member director but by that time I had already decided my time was better spent elsewhere. I don't know how the Greenville Chamber of Commerce is as an organization but I can tell you to expect to forget about a warm southern welcome, aint happening here.
Mr. Carlos Phillips you and channel 7 stand for big business. 12 cents a gallon means a lot to poor people with children or our senior citizens. If it so important for business to have the roads repaired let them pay. Stop the waste in the Columbia swamp and there would be no need for more taxes. Mr Phillips would you like to tell us how much you make? I'm sure it's enough the new taxes will not hurt you. You and your liberal buddies at channel seven should be ashamed of yourselves.
