Loved the space and the food. Nicole was a fantastic server. We enjoyed the cocktails and apps, especially the chips and the tempura chicken bao buns. People in our group enjoyed the dumpling smash tacos and the chicken katsu was delicious. My only complaint is that when a DJ is there it is very loud. My parents and I were seated before the DJ started, and once he started my parents had a hard time hearing our conversation.

My husband and I had a great experience at South Main Social on Friday. The drinks were unique and well balanced, the vibe was on point and the food was delicious. We were excited to see an Asian fusion spot move into town. We would love to see the menu expand a little more with some staples like a Dan Dan noodles or even Sichuan Mala Fried Chicken!!

Brand new spot and super cool vibe. The decorations and lighting is thought out and well designed. Got the music Mule with the house made ginger beer 10/10. Servers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks/food. Chloe did an amazing job making this place special.

Unfortunately misses the mark. The concept Iike great, but almost every part of the experience fell short. Service was a mess from the start. We waited about 10 minutes just to be acknowledged and even longer to get water kept having to ask for more and wait. Our server was visible throughout the evening, yet somehow we still felt completely overlooked. The only time service became efficient was when it was time to bring the check. The DJ was good and the music selection was enjoyable, but it was loud for a restaurant. We were practically shouting across the table at times, and everyone around us seemed to be doing the same. The drinks were forgettable. We tried both menu cocktails and off-menu, and none of them stood out. Nothing was outright terrible, but nothing was worth ordering again either. The food was where things really fell apart. We ordered the charcuterie board and the egg dip to share. The charcuterie looked carelessly assembled, the meat was pretty nasty, and the presentation was genuinely unappetizing. After a bite or two, none of us wanted much more. The crackers were equally strange some were like tortilla chips while others were oversized and awkward to eat. The whole plate felt like an afterthought. The egg dip wasn’t any better. The crackers served with it tasted burnt, and the dip itself lacked flavor. By that point, it felt like disappointment after disappointment. We love supporting local businesses and trying new restaurants, so writing a negative review isn’t great. But this experience felt overpriced, poorly executed, and nowhere near ready for the expectations it’s setting. Hopefully they make significant improvements, because right now this isn’t a place we’d recommend or return to.

I was very disappointed in this place. We were seated and waited 10 minutes with no service. It was not even crowded and we saw many employees. We even saw what I believe was the manager walking around completely oblivious. We decided to switch to outside where someone did finally come. Food was okay but nothing special for the price. For example, the deviled egg dip tasted ok but it was served with what felt like soggy crackers and it just lacked the crunch that it needed. I also thought the choice of huge summer squash chunks was an odd choice for a pickeled vegetable to go with this dish. Music was a little too loud both inside and outside in my opinion, some people might like that though. The only thing we enjoyed were the cocktails.
